It is August! In four weeks, we will hold our annual Convention from Aug 30 to Sept 2, 2024. It is our 27th. How time flies! This year, we gather in Atlanta – “the Belle of the South” – a beautiful city with a rich history and many cultural attractions. This vibrant city is home to ten universities and 47 more in the wider Atlanta area, posh shopping malls, the largest aquarium in the world and much more. The theme of Convention is “Warri Kingdom – What we owe the future”.
Our hope is to bring together intelligentsia, visioners and thinkers to plump the present and suggest ways to secure the economic future of the areas in which we work – the western Niger delta of Nigeria. An area rich in oil and gas resources but has one of the poorest living standards in the world.
My recent visit to Sapele left me overly concerned about what the future holds for our people. The theme of our 27th Convention could not be timelier. As we meet, let us find time to look around us and appreciate how richly blessed we are. Kindly consider how you can help Ugbajo Itsekiri continue its work of providing opportunities and hope for the population who live in the areas where we work.
We would appreciate a donation to fund Ugbajo Itsekiri programs. If you live in the United States, your donation to Ugbajo Itsekiri is tax deductible for federal taxes purposes.
Our Programs:
I wish all attendees a successful meeting and a renewed energy to work on our programs.
